Megan Thee Stallion Says Certain Men Dont Like WAP Because Of Fear And Insecurity

In 2020, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion released their song together, “WAP,” and it was easily one of the biggest singles of the year, although, it didn’t come without its haters. Fans of the artists know it was controversial due to its subject matter.

“WAP,” which stands for “Wet A*s P*ssy,” went to number one and stayed there for weeks, going platinum in just a few months, at least according to Cardi’s husband, Offset. Either way, not everyone liked the song even though it was very successful.

For instance, Snoop Dogg was just one rapper who came out to say that he thought the song was preaching the wrong theme. He argued that women should treat their bodies and their genitalia like it was their “temple” and most “precious gift.”

Snoop did admit, however, that if he were much younger, he probably would’ve been at the forefront of the “WAP” movement. Snoop wasn’t the only public figure who didn’t like the song.

Politicians and other media personalities came out to put both parties on blast, arguing that the song was destructive to the moral fabric of society. According to Hot New Hip Hop, Megan Thee Stallion recently responded to some of these arguments.

During an interview with GQ Magazine, Megan explained how a lot of people didn’t know how to feel or how to respond to a woman who takes control of her body and her sexuality. Megan says men probably felt as though they “owned sex” for the longest time, but now women are saying it’s for them too.

Megan went on to say that men’s hatred of the song “comes from a place of fear and insecurity,” adding how she didn’t understand why anyone would ever dislike the song because it’s not even their song.

When asked how men should treat their significant others this year for Christmas, Megan said it was about “love and respect,” and it’s not always about money. However, the rapper joked that if a man or woman is stuck on what to get someone for Christmas, jewelry is never a bad choice. The rapper joked, “everyone loves ice.”
