Glamorous Mosman house on market with $5.8 million $6.2 million price guide

YOU’D think being able to see Balmoral Beach from your front gate would have to be the headline here, but then again, the beach itself is a flat as a tack two-minute walk from the gate, down a cul-de-sac no less, so maybe that’s the banner? For me, I’d have to say, no.

I know, it shocks me too. But the thing is, this home at

18 Hunter Rd, Mosman is a well-designed, unpretentious yet very glamorous, family home. Yes, we have a winner! In a suburb loaded with triple height voids, glass elevators and Vintec fridges in the garage, this more approachable family home holds its own, and then some.

It is situated at the very end of Hunter Rd, bordering Hunter Park, (across the road from Rocky Point Island) but it’s the house itself that seals the deal.

Through a private courtyard entrance and into a hallway/living layout with high ceilings, it is rich with interesting angles and streaming sunlight.

And the unconventional configuration continues — there’s a bedroom off to the left of the hallway, an office (though of course it could be anything at all) off to the right and a little further down the hall, off to the left is a salon prive that invites a more intimate chat. It’s a space that worked like a magnet on me, despite the adjacent dining area that meets the glass wall and doors onto the terrace.

It’s about then you do realise you are on an upper level, as you peer over into the pool and lawn area (or across into substantial privacy hedging), and feel the breeze on your cheeks.

A more open-plan lounge area blends seamlessly into the kitchen — the palette and the finishings blurring the delineation of either. It’s just so welcoming, it demands get-togethers! — and yet on this level alone there are about five getaway spots.

Down the staircase and another level awaits — designed for lucky kids no doubt. Bedrooms, lounges, the pool, more terracing and fab storage options. Being at Balmoral, well it’s just an added bonus.

The home is listed with Ray White Lower North Shore and has a guide of $5.8 million — $6.2 million.
